This fact has only recently been brought to my notice- there exists a popular song in which a man promises earnestly to be a 'crying shoulder' of some sort.
Huh?
I feel like I've missed a grammatical development. I Googled "crying shoulder" as well, and it turned up images of people cuddling, children crying, several vomit-inducing displays of cutesiness and, for some reason, a Lupus awareness poster.
HUH?
Trawling through pages of the web search also failed to lead me to portals where others have expressed a confusion similar to mine.

Am I the only person who when presented with the vexing term 'crying shoulder' thinks of this phenomenon below?:



Now if someone volunteered to be my crying brain, I may not have to feel this pain myself. (C'mooon?)
